Personal biography
Dr. Ankur Kumar Verma completed his MBBS from GSVM Medical College. He then pursued his MS and Senior Residency at the prestigious King George’s Medical University, where he trained for six years. He further gained advanced neurosurgical training as an MCh candidate in the Department of Neurosurgery at Banaras Hindu University for three years. In addition, he holds a fellowship from the Indian Association of Gastrointestinal Endosurgeons. Dr. Verma has worked at Bitana and Chandrawati Multispecialty Hospital, Bahraich. During his tenure at the Trauma Center of Banaras Hindu University, he managed thousands of patients and achieved excellent surgical outcomes, particularly in cases of traumatic brain and spine injuries. He has extensive experience in complex neurosurgical procedures, including brain aneurysm surgery, brain and spine tumor surgery, trauma management, spinal tuberculosis, spinal deformity correction, deep brain stimulation (DBS) for Parkinson’s disease, and endoscopic spine surgery. Dr. Verma has actively participated in multiple national and regional conferences and workshops and has published articles in reputed journals. He is a lifetime member of the Neurological Society of India and the Neuro Spinal Surgeons Association, and regularly contributes to academic activities organized by these associations. He is among the few hybrid neurosurgeons proficient in both open and minimally invasive neurosurgical techniques. His special areas of interest include complex skull base surgery, minimally invasive microscopic and endoscopic spine surgery, craniovertebral junction surgery, pediatric developmental anomaly correction, and stroke management.
