A Caesarian section or C-section is a surgical procedure in which one or more incisions are made through a mother's abdomen and uterus to deliver one or more babies. A Caesarean section is often performed when a vaginal delivery would put the baby's or mother's life or health at risk.

Our doctors would try to do Normal Delivery as far as possible and would do C-sections only when normal delivery is not possible. Your gynaecologist is the best judge to decide if a vaginal or caesarean delivery would be safer for you. A lot of patients and their families doubt the intention of the gynaecologist in going for c-sec delivery which is not completely misplaced as a lot of gynaecologists do prefer c-sections over normal delivery but not for monetary reasons.

The baby shows signs of distress, such as a slowed heart rate
